I graduated from Georgia Tech with an Applied Mathematics degree and a deep love of math. My experience includes helping elementary through high school students with math for over 10 years. I've worked for companies like Mathnasium, Princeton Review, the Athletic Association at Georgia Tech, and other tutoring centers.
My philosophy is that a mathematician is a problem solver. Yes, someone who thinks this way can look at a situation and think of a solution, but they can also think of an efficient and repeatable strategy to get to the answer.
And that's exactly what I did as a tutor. Together, we looked for simple strategies for students to not just memorize algorithms, but understand their meaning. Remembering why something needs to be done helps us remember what the steps actually are to get to the answer.
A tutor can open a door to a world full of potential solutions - and figure out fun real ways to connect with the material.
